Let's Play!

As always I do both my Anime and Webcomic reviews every Friday and this week we're going to review Let's Play by Mongie! Unfortunately I am not sure if Mongie has a patreon or not but, I will direct you to the webcomic episode one at the end of the review.

Let's Play is about a girl named Sam and a Vlogger named Marshall Law. Suppose to be a romance story of some kind but, I thought that this one had a very important lesson for anyone that had any ideas about putting much of anything on the internet. I think every story has a lesson to be learned in it well....maybe not all of them but, a vast majority we'll say.

Without giving away too much the general lesson that I would like to point out in this one is that. The internet is brutal in more ways than you could possibly imagine something very innocent like a review could turn people against something without ever really trying to look at it. I try my best to give both sides as to spur some thought on viewing the content because as you learn in Let's Play should you ever gain a large following your words carry power in sometimes unintended ways.

I never like to grade the art too much but I do wish there was a little more background involved to me it makes it hard to tell if the characters are moving around or standing still but this is just an artistic preference. The story has only one major loop hole that I can really think of that pertains more to Marshall. Essentially without giving anything away Mashall doesn't seem to understand how the internet 'works' and only comes to this realization in the recent timeline which if he was a large scale vlogger in real life he would most likely already know this. Being on the internet a long time and publishing content on it will open your eyes to a few things that Marshall seems oblivious too though, it's not a back breaking loop hole and, it does give Mongie a fair way to push plot.

Some of the things I like about Let's Play come down to it's fairly basic design as it doesn't show a lot of flare and focuses more on the story which could make or break you. In this instance I think Mongie did a good job overall. Another thing I really like is Sam's inner monologue that you get to see a lot of the time either showing her fear of something or courage for something else. It makes her a very easy character to follow and read because her emotions are so clearly displayed to you as the reader. As for the romance in this webcomic that remains to be seen since it hasn't actually happened yet.

That will be it for the WebComic portion this Friday as always I do hope you enjoyed my banter. Don't let my opinion rule your thought though, you can check out the Webcomic here  . Feel free to drop comments below and share to your friends who knows they may thank you for getting them into a webcomic or two!
